An official statement noted that the initiative taken up by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will initially permit tethered flights for four hours daily. However, the ride timings might be extended by the DDA based on the requirements.
“Following the successful trial at Baansera, public operations are expected to commence shortly. Once launched, these rides will offer residents and visitors a unique aerial view of Delhi’s natural landscape, riverfront, and cityscape, significantly augmenting the city’s tourism potential,” said the official statement.
Public rides are set to open soon, the statement said, in line with the peak season for ballooning in North India, spanning November to February, which offers ideal weather conditions for the adventure sport.
The project has been conceptualised and implemented under the direct supervision of the L-G, said the statement. This will introduce a new dimension to Delhi’s skyline and strengthen the city’s eco-tourism and adventure sports offerings, it added.
